About this Event
POWER On Heels Fund, Inc. will enable greater success for Latinas – A critical engine for America’s economic growth. By helping Latina women tackle the growing burden of workplace inequalities and focus their efforts on the task at hand; developing their skills and confidence needed to excel in their field and business. Most importantly, teaching them how to eliminate the pressures of financing academic, professional, and personal growth.
Latina POWER Purse Program©
POHF’s Latina POWER Purse Program© is structured to enhance and enrich skills, expand opportunities, and advance careers. It will cover 3 Key Areas focused on having impact on individual and organizational growth.

Key Area 1 – Emotional Intelligence
Emotional intelligence or EQ is the ability to understand and manage your own emotions, and those of the people around you. People with a high degree of emotional intelligence know what they’re feeling, what their emotions mean, and how these emotions can affect other people. For leaders, having emotional intelligence is essential for success. These are five elements:
- Self-awareness
- Self-regulation
- Motivation
- Empathy
- Social Skills
Key Area 2 – Leadership
Embrace your strengths and drive your personal growth to new heights. Guiding everyone to develop a vision on how to lead and influence on multiple fronts. Focus will be placed on equipping each talented Latina to break through the barriers that have historically impeded their growth. This session will focus on the link between perceptions, innovation and leadership. As we explore leadership best practices and exchange ideas and new strategies for creating environments that fosters growth, to act with confidence, and to lead with lasting impact.
Key Area 3 – Financial Mastery
The lack of financial resources can no longer impede our ability to succeed. By developing a greater understanding of finances by creating a comprehensive financial plan for the future we can change lives. This program will give a road map to follow and a plan of action. Building confidence in Latinas in managing their finances goes beyond just saving and investing. Training provided by BBVA .

Requesting for a $10 Donations

Completion of the Latina POWER Purse Program is required to apply for the POHF Scholarship.
The Latina POWER Purse Program is the official education program for the POWER On Heels Fund, Inc. Our purpose is to provide tools and skills focused on helping Latinas reach their fullest potentials through our programs and scholarships.

More about our POHF Scholarships
The POWER On Heels Fund, Inc. will award the POWER On Heels Scholarship Awards to those that attended and completed the Latina POWER Purse Program©. The selected award winners will receive a scholarship to attend course approved by the Scholarship Committee. Scholarship funds may be utilized to fund:
- College Education
- Trade School
- Training Courses
- Business Certification
- Trade Certification
Purpose of Scholarships
POWER On Heels Fund, Inc.’s Power On Heels Scholarship Awards will be awarded to Latina professionals, business owners students, whose personal and professional success and earning potential will INCREASE by attending educational seminars/courses, increase leadership opportunities, and increase earning potential.
Who May Apply?
To qualify, the applicant must have attended and completed the Latina POWER Purse Program (LPPP or LPPP for Girls) prior to applying. Applicants must be enrolled in an institution of higher learning or be enrolled in professional development course and/or certification.
